I've just joined the forum and was hoping to find out how to sort my photos by the Descriptive Tags that Vista Photo Gallery inserts. I think that is what is meant by "tags" in Willy9009s comment above? If so then, yes please, let's have this feature.

Definately needs to respect the Exif tag for rotating photos as this is really annoying when your looking at photos and having to turn your head around all the time.
Not sure if videos (e.g. mp4 files from iPhone) have Exif but all the photos and videos that I take on my iPhone are displayed with incorrect rotation. Would be great to get that fixed.

    Hi ifflanb,

Mezzmo does read the EXIF tags for rotation and will rotate the photos before streaming them - but only if the device you are streaming to does not rotate photos itself. Many devices read the EXIF tags and rotate the photo themselves, so there is no need for Mezzmo to do unnecessary transcoding (rotating) of the photo. Please email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and tell us:

    • What device are you streaming to?
    • What device profile do you have assigned to this device in the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo?

After we get this information, we'll provide an updated device profile that does the auto rotation of photos for you.

    Hi,

My 2 cents ... I would love to be able to extract photos based on their tags. But then, once I have a filtered list of all the photos tagged, say, "birthday", I'd love to be able to have them grouped/presented by year, and then month. A mix of smart and active playlist, really.
Beyond the use of the EXIF "tag" field, do you plan to merge active and smart playlists one day?
    Thanks

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Yes, we do plan to merge active and smart playlists. We agree it's a good idea.
