Default Mezzmo 3.1.1.0 not displaying subtitles

It is my understanding that my version of Mezzmo should display subtitles(.srt) I have enabled "stream external subtitles" and "stream embedded subtitles" but neither function seems to work. My TV is Samsung C.

    Hi Harlan,

You certainly should be able to stream subtitles to your Samsung C-series TV. We'll help get you up and running.

First, go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and edit your Samsung C device. On the Device Settings dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and make sure the "Stream external subtitles", "Stream embedded subtitles" and "Burn subtitles" checkboxes are all checked. Whilst here, set your preferred subtitle language (e.g. English).

Next, right-click on a video in Mezzmo (that you think should have external/embedded subtitles) and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab. Do you see your external or embedded subtitles listed there? If you do not, then click the "Update Subtitles" button and Mezzmo will try to reload the embedded and external subtitle files. If Mezzmo loaded your subtitles, then that suggests you may need to maintain your library so that Mezzmo picks up all the subtitles for your videos. To do this, go to the "Maintain Library" dialog and select "Video files" checkbox, select the "Update subtitles" checkbox and select "Only update files with missing information" radio button. Click OK and Mezzmo will find all the subtitles for your video files. Try streaming some videos after it has completed.

When playing a video on your TV, press the Tools or Options or Settings button on your TV's remote control and you should see a setting for the subtitle display. Let us know how you go.

    Thanks Paul

I followed your instructions, added the settings in the device settings dialog and the videos in question and the external subtitles now display. However, even after fixing the settings, the embedded subtitles dont show. Anything else I can try?

Glad you've made good progress, Harlan.

Regarding the videos that have embedded subtitles, you may need to extract the embedded subtitles from them as external subtitles and then Mezzmo will stream them to your TV (since your TV does not seem to support that embedded subtitle format). To do this, right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and select one of the embedded subtitles from the list. Click 'Extract Subtitles'. Next, go to the Transcoding tab and delete any transcoded files listed there. Now try streaming and see how you go.

If any problem, post the FFmpeg information for the video here. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.
