Lightbulb Tutorial: How to fast-forward/rewind (FF/REW) on your Samsung TV

When you stream a video to your Samsung TV, using the FF/REW buttons on your TV's remote control may display "not available" and not let you FF/REW through the video. This is a restriction in your Samsung TV's firmware.

    The solution is as follows:

    • Chapter Search - Your Samsung TV may support reading chapter (.MTA) files. Mezzmo automatically detects your .MTA files and delivers them to your Samsung TV. If no .MTA file is found for your video, then Mezzmo automatically creates Samsung chapter files and delivers them to your Samsung TV. On your TV, while your video is playing, press the middle button (or press the Tools button) to display the Tools menu and scroll to the Chapter Search icon. Press the middle button to select it and 15 minute auto-generated chapter points within your video will be displayed. You can select one of them to quickly navigate to that section of the video. Note: Some Samsung TV models do not support chapter search.

Tip: To further customize chapter search in Mezzmo for your videos, see this FAQ - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...on-Samsung-TVs

    • Time Search - Your Samsung TV may support time search. Typically, Samsung D-series and later models support Time Search. On your TV, while your video is playing, press the middle button (or press the Tools button) to display the Tools menu and scroll to the Time Search icon. Press the middle button to select it and then use the left and right arrow buttons on your remote control to select a time in the video and then press the press the middle button to seek to that point in the video.

Tip: Time Search may be disabled or not available when you are streaming certain video formats to your Samsung TV. We have found some Samsung TV models do not let your use Time Search for MPEG-2 or VOB video formats. This is a limitation of the Samsung TV firmware. In this case, you should pre-transcode your video to another format. See this FAQ for pre-transcoding steps - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nscoding-Files

    • Left/Right Arrows - Press the left or right arrow buttons on your remote control to move in approximately 10-15 second increments through the video.
