    Default Pre-Transoded Files Still Stuttering

Hi - I have a 2011 Panasonic Viera with DLNA. My PC is a 3.0 GHZ dual-core with about 2.5 GB of RAM. When I pre-transcode files, they typically work, up until a point where the source file is usually over 6gb, or so. Any larger than that, and they typically start stuttering about half-way through, even if they have been pre-transcoded. I have a fairly old router - a Linksys E1000 (10/100) - would the router be a limiting factor here? My connection is via E6 Ethernet cable - not wirelessly. Also, my ISP bandwidth is approx. 6mbps, but I didn't think this would matter since I'm not uploading / downloading. Any help would be appreciated - thanks very much.

Since you are pre-transcoding your files, then transcoding will not be the bottleneck. It may be that the video files have a high bitrate and your TV struggles to decode and play these high-bitrate video files. Or, your home network is limiting the data transfer from Mezzmo server to your TV. Ethernet cables are great. Router could be the problem. We recently had a user report to us that his Linksys EA4500 router was the cause of streaming problems and, after reporting this to Linksys, they sent him a firmware upgrade that fixed all his problems. Perhaps this could help you as well. Alternatively, if you have access to another router for a few hours, you could try swapping it over to try an isolate that your existing router as being the cause of your problems.

To rule out the high bitrate video as being the cause of the stuttering, go to the Properties dialog for the video in Mezzmo and click on the Transcoding tab. Select the transcoded file and click the Get FFmpeg Information button. Post that here.
