Default Mezzmo media server takes CPU power !

I have discovered that the Mezzmo medie server after startet Automatic from Windows takes about 50% of the CPU power
When I go into the user interface program there is nothing happening in the status Window.
When I try to stop the server there goes long time then I get this message.
    Clipboard01.jpg
When I click OK it is stopped.
When I startet it Again it don't use CPU power more.
And now I can start and stop the server without any error.

    Regards

    Default Mezzmo 3.2 Issues

    Paul,

I have noticed a couple of issues aswell with CPU power - for example if I select any device and change its default settings on one of the tabs such as turning off burning subtitles etc and clicking apply/okay; that Mezzmo will show "Not responding" for quite sometime, before I get error message "The Mezzmo Media Server Service could not be stopped etc" but it does actually stop the service.

Also I note in the actual service settings that the log-on tab has changed in this latest version. It now logs on as "Local System Account" with allowed interaction with the Desktop but this prevents access to network shares - To fix that I changed this tab to log on with my own admin based credentials and that fixed the problem. In the older version 2.6 of Mezzmo there were also some dependencies but these have now disappeared from the dependency tab - I assume that is correct?

Clearly though there is an issues with the Mezzmo service - I have even had the software create two services when renaming my service from the default "Mezzmo" to "Media" - this had the effect of finding each of my upnp/dlna devices twice and I had to delete one of the services (using the dos command sc delete <service name>) and remove the devices and redetect them.

I mention these in hope that v3.3 will contain the fixes.

    Regards...

Thanks for reporting this. We have fixed this issue for Mezzmo v3.3. We'll re-test it again to make sure all is OK for Mezzmo v3.3.

    Paul,

Just wanted to mention what KGriff said above again. I also have had / still have issues when changing settings with the media devices. At the the end of my changes when mezzmo asks if I want to restart the service to apply the changes I always hit no. Close out the dialog boxes so I am back at the main mezzmo interface screen, then I'll stop and start the service manually. If I do no do it this way, windows says the service failed to respond in a timely manner even though the service actually stopped and started. Mezzmo will say not responding during this process.

As to the service doubling up I have also had this happen on my computer. After renaming the Mezzmo service to something else, it will register the new name as a service but did not remove the original mezzmo service. But like KGriff said "sc delete" was the quick fix for that one. Just wanted to let you know this was not an isolated issue and a couple of people have had it happen.

Any status on v3.3. Not to worried about it on my machine but have also been watching mezzmo media server hold one of my cpu cores at 70% to 100%. When I Analyze Wait chain to see what it is doing, it says the media server is waiting on network I/O to finish. Not sure what its doing though but it alway doing it if the media server service is on.

    Hi Shawn,

Mezzmo v3.3 is very close. Just tidying up and doing final testing on a few new features.

Regarding the CPU usage, when this happens, stop your Mezzmo server and turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging). Restart your server and wait for CPU usage to increase to 70%. Then, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
