    Default series.xml and Active Playlists

    Hi Guys,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but here we go:

    v3.2.0.0

I'm using an active playlist based on Album/Series of a file. When I have "Get text metadata from file path" ticked, it gets the Series Name into Mezzmo, and then Mezzmo creates the active playlist properly. However, if I disable the metadata from the file path, and instead get the series name from series.xml, Mezzmo correctly gets the series name from the series.xml file, but it disappears out of the active playlist!

    I'm so confused

Right-click on the video and click 'Properties'. In the Properties dialog, do you see the correct series listed in the Series edit box? If not, then Mezzmo is not picking up your Series name from the associated 'series.xml' file.

Please email the 'series.xml' file to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll reproduce & fix the problem here.

    Cheers Paul.

Yes, the series name was being populated from series.xml in the properties.

I have since determined the playlist was corrupted somehow. I delete the playlist and recreated it again, same settings and conditions and it works!

Now if only there was a way I could categorise by sub-playlist

Glad everything is working now Regarding categorizing sub-playlists, let me know how you would like your Mezzmo library organized and perhaps there's a way with the current smart & active playlists to do this.

eg. I have all my anime in D:\Anime and all my TV shows in D:\TV

I want to do something like this:

    Anime
    |--- A-Z
    |--- Filesystem
    |--- Latest Episodes
    TV
    |--- A-Z
    |--- Filesystem
    |--- Latest Episodes

    Where:
A-Z is an active playlist based off Mezzmo metadata (works perfect when only one of the folders is added to the library)
Filesystem is the live folder (so eg. D:\Anime for anime)
Latest Episodes is just the last X episodes

I've been able to create everything as listed except the A-Z, because it includes both folder types, with no way to filter it. Latest episodes I used a smart playlist where file path contained \Anime\ and \TV\ respectively and it works a treat, it's just the A-Z active playlist I can't get to work in this way

Understand. There is no current way in Mezzmo v3.2.0.0. to use an active playlist that filters on certain content (...it is in our plans to implement this in a future version of Mezzmo). As a workaround, you can create a set of smart playlists to simulate the A-Z categories that you want. See the first post in http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ists-in-Mezzmo and it will teach you how to do this. You would just need to add a rule to each of the smart playlists where the file path contained \Anime\ and \TV\ respectively. It's a little bit of work, but it should get what you want

Close but not quite (does the A-Z fantastic but unable to group by series afterwards)

I'll just continue using separate instances of Mezzmo service running until such a time this can be done Thks for the help
