Default Wrong aspect ration on Panasonic DTW60 (and ETW/WTW)

    Hey there,

when streaming to our new Panasonic DTV60 (47inch) aspect ratio is always shown wrong. It all looks a bit stretched.

I guess this is so since the DTV-series is quite new? Not sure if this also occurs on the new ETW and WTW series but i believe.

With my brothers older Samsung Smart TV it works flawlessly.

Nevertheless do you might already have a pre-release profile to fix that problem?

Or can we expect this to be patched in v3.3?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Kindest regards from Germany,

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

One thing to try is a new feature in Mezzmo v3.3. Go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your device. In the Device Settings dialog, go to the Performance tab and select the 'Adjust video aspect ratio' checkbox. This will attempt to correct the aspect ratio for videos streamed to your device. Click Help on the dialog for more information.

Also, what device profile are you using? You should be using one of the Panasonic Viera device profiles. Try changing to each one and see if they produce better results.

Finally, if no better then we can create a new device profile for your TV model. We'll need a few things:

    • A set of logs. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging). Connect to Mezzmo from your TV and stream a video. Then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
    • A list of all the video, music, image and subtitle formats that the TV supports. Check the TV's manual or web site for these details.

    Hi Paul,

thanks for your support so far.

Iīve tried all your possible solutions but neither the first nor the second do work for me.

Iīm using the Viera 2011 profile. Thereīs no newer one.

Thatīs why iīve created logfiles i just sent to your email. Iīve also attached screenshots with all formats the TV is able to handle.

    Thanks in advance,

    Thomas

    Thomas,
There is a Panasonic Viera (2012 models) in the list of 'stock' profiles - have you tried that?. Having said that, I have a TX-L32E6B model and the '2012 profile would appear to offer less compatibility than the 2011 i.e. the same file is delivered without transcoding on a 2011 Viera model, but the E6B (with the 2012 profile) requires most videos be transcoded. I know the file is compatible with the TV as a Twonky server delivers the exact same file to the device perfectly - and Twonky does not support transcoding.

Therefore I also need to generate some logs for Conceiva and hopefully they can generate a new profile for Panasonic's 2013 range :-)

    Hi Paul,

just to let you and all the others already know: it seems that problem with the ratio is fixed now and everything works perfectly fine with your new profile.
What iīve found out is that Mezzmo is still struggling on some MP4 files.

Since iīm short in time at the moment i canīt send you new logfiles today but within the week

    Thanks very much so far!

    Regards,

    Thomas
