Thread: Integration of features like Renamer

Lightbulb Integration of features like Renamer

I am currently working out my media library within Mezzmo, and you are helping me sort out the streaming on one of my devices, the only thing I am really desperate to see within Mezzmo is better management of the tags and file names within the library. Something like: The Renamer But ideally a bit more flexible and powerful.

Basically, Having to apply tags to a library of 5600 things can be a bit time consuming. It would be nice to have a more powerful way to set the titles that allows for wildcards. Say for instance that I have 3rd Rock From the Sun, and I wanted to give every file the name 3rd Rock - S01E01 - Episode Name, currently the only way to do this is to manually add them, I suggest a replacement tag system where you could type 3rd Rock - S%SERIES%E%EPISODE% - %EPNAME% and Mezzmo would automatically rename replacing the tags with the actual info it has for the file, if it does.

Thanks for the suggestion. We also have the same idea and plan to implement this in a future version. It should allow for flexible naming schemes for all users.

For the moment, instead of using the title that Mezzmo collects from your metadata, you can use the filename that you have assigned using tools like The Renamer. See this FAQ: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...as-your-titles

One of the problems I've had is that I accidentally deleted the titles of all of one series of a show, and I can't restore the ones from the titles without doing it manually. I have set mezzmo to use the titles of the files, but there is no 'reset to default' setting on the properties window.

Also, Do you know the sort of timeline we'd be looking at for the sort of functionality you mentioned? It's just, if it's going to be a year, I may as well get on with manually sourcing the information about my media...

If you want to get new titles, then you will have to run Maintain Library. Right-click on the folder/playlist and click Maintain Playlist. Once completed, you should have new titles (based on your preferences in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog). See this FAQ for more information about using filenames as titles - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...as-your-titles and this FAQ about maintaining your files - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...Mezzmo-library.

We'll try to get the title naming keywords in before the end of the year.
