    Default Hopper with Sling question

I am curious about the current Hopper/Joey profile, trying to stream a mpeg-4 part 2 hd video file I get no video but I get the audio... It's in a mkv container, is that video format not supported by the hopper?

EDIT: this is the ffmpeg information

    Hi Karnaj,

Mezzmo is streaming this file directly to your Dish Hopper without any transcoding. So if no video is displayed, then your Dish Hopper cannot decode the video for some reason. It could be that the video is badly encoded or there is some attribute in the encoding that Dish Hoppers do not support.

Try pre-transcoding the video and see if that plays. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click Pre-transcode Files. In the Pre-transcode Files dialog, choose your device and click 'Choose Formats'. On the Pre-transcoding Formats dialog, select the bolded format. Click OK. Then click the 'Pre-transcode files even if they match the device's supported formats' checkbox. Click OK to start transcoding. Once complete, try streaming the video again.

I will do that when compare the two formats, and see what the difference in the files is. VLC decodes the video just fine.

VLC is great at playing lots of media formats, but your device's firmware does not have the capabilities of VLC. It will be much more limited and that's why Mezzmo server transcodes your files on-the-fly when they are not supported. Let us know how you go.
