Default AVG thinks Sniffer is a virus!

    I have AVG anti-virus, a grisoft product

It keeps catching DownloadStudioSniffer.exe and says that it is a worm, Generic.GZR

I cannot find a way to make it ignore the program; instead, "ignore" means disable.

    Is anyone familiar with this?

    Hi Cliff,

Rest assured that your DownloadStudioSniffer.exe does not contain any virus, malware or spyware and is completely safe.

We are currently waiting for AVG to update their definitions so people don't receive this 'false positive' virus detected message. We will do everything possible to find out why this has happened and ensure it never happens again.

I am not familiar enough with AVG to tell you how to ignore the file so you can still use Sniffer until AVG update their virus definition database. Take a look at Grisoft's website for more information.

Sorry about the inconvenience and hopefully the issue will be resolved in the next day.
