Thumbs down Streaming DVD disk to Samsung TV wifi

    I have a PC with a DVD drive, N-wifi router, 2GHz processor.
I now have a Samsung Series 6 C LED TC with Samsung wifi dongle.

Software: anyDVD (to decrypt on the fly and remove region code), Mezzmo as a DNLA server.

For some DVDs this works fine. Others have a variable number of .vob files that trigger an error code on the TV: "video codec not supported". Some of those unplayable .vob files become playable if they are ripped to disk by anyDVD rather than played on the fly.

Samsung says this is because not all video codecs in current or older DVDs are supported by the TV, and because the codec support is in hardware not software, never will be supported in the future.

Is there a way of configuring Mezzmo to make these files readable by the TV?

Make sure you have the latest version of Mezzmo installed (2.1.9.0) and you are using the Samsung C device profile (check Media Devices dialog to check this).

Mezzmo does support streaming .VOB files.

Can you please turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging ), then try to connect & play one of the problem VOB files. After that, please stop the server and email us the logs for further investigation to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Also, send me the FFmpeg information on one of the VOB files. To do this, in Mezzmo, right click on the file and click Get FFmpeg Information. Copy and paste it into an email & send it to me.

I've also experienced this problem before on my LCD tv, then I bought a new LED series display with Free streaming TV capabilities using a wifi dongle.
