Default Exclude Meta data for certain folders and custom arranging of folders

    Hi, I have a couple requests/questions.

Is there a way to tell Mezzmo to exclude certain Folders from retrieving Meta data without it affecting the entire Library, but without going file by file within said Folder? i.e. I have several TV shows that I absolutely love using Mezzmo's meta data for. However, my home videos with titles such as "Christmas", or "Vacation" often lead to meta data from movies with the same name. I know I can manually remove the meta data file by file, but it would be so much more convenient to have the ability to exclude folders. It was comical at first, now it's just weird!

Also, is there a way to arrange the Folders in your Library so that my Folders in the Library will appear on your device in a certain order? Typically they show up in the order that they were added to the Mezzmo library. I believe I can get it to arrange by alphabet file name, rating, etc., but I want to arrange them myself.

Thank you in advance for any response!

Thanks for the questions. Some answers:

    1. There is no automated way to exclude certain sub-folders or files. A few tips that may help:

    • Instead of adding the top-level folder (e.g. D:\), you could add your sub-folders separately (e.g. D:\TV Shows, D:\Home Videos) into your Mezzmo library. That way, you can set the metadata retrieval setting for them when adding the folder and when maintaining the folder. You set the metadata retrieval settings in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog (get to this dialog via the Maintain Library dialog or the Options dialog - Retrieving Metadata page). When adding or maintaining your home videos, turn off getting metadata and artwork from the internet.
    • You can maintain teh files in a specific playlist or folder rather than maintaining your complete Mezzmo library. Right-click on the folder/playlist in the tree in Mezzmo and click Maintain Playlist. This will display the Maintain Library dialog and you can set the metadata retrieval settings there. So if you have separated folders for your home videos and TV shows, you can maintain your TV shows from time-to-time and get the desired artwork & text metadata from the internet.

    2. Users who want a preferred order for their folders & playlists typically name their folders/playlists like "01. Home videos", "02. TV shows", "03. Music videos", "04. Movies", "05. Genre", etc. This enables you to get the order you want. Right-click on the folder/playlist in the tree in Mezzmo and click Properties. In the Properties dialog, set the name as you wish. Then browse your Mezzmo library in your device to see the order.
