    Default Tag updating

I would like to see Mezzmo updated where if I update tag info within Mezzmo, it updates the actual file tag information. If that is not possible it would be equally as good if I could update the tag info directly on the file and Mezzmo would update itself with any differences it finds between the file tag and Mezzmo. The only way currently it updates is if I run the full maint, but then it wipes any updates I have made within Mezzmo. This would save a lot of time and effort in that currently when I find tag errors or omissions, I must update both the file tag and Mezzmo tag to maintain both databases. Recently I was demo'ing JRiver and found that when you update the tag via JRiver the file tag updates as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. To date, we have a design philosophy for Mezzmo of not touching user's files in anyway. However, we also understand there is an additional hassle for users to maintain the metadata in their media files and the metadata stored in their Mezzmo library. We will discuss this here again and consider adding metadata writing features into Mezzmo.

This has been on my list for a little bit, so I'll add another vote here. If Mezzmo's philosophy is to not touch the files (which makes sense), then broader support for reading and manipulating libraries based on standard tags would be helpful... Or a possible compromise would be to have the user select whether or not tags edited in Mezzmo are written to the file.

It seems to me that this could be a configurable setting, so not mandatory, but optional. I understand the philosophy of not touching user files, but if the user had the option.......

The other possibility would be to have it as a check box on the properties screen or simply have a question box pop asking if the user would like to update the actual file as well.

Nice idea. We'll certainly make it an option if and when we implement it.
