    Default Rapidshare query

    Hi,
When downloading a Rapidshare file with right click\Download link I only get the html file.If I click on the link directly I get the full file which downloads with DownloadStudio OK.I'm not sure if I have a setting wrong or not.I'm a rapidshare premium user and have Direct downloads checked.I use Firefox but it also happens in IE.I'm using the latest version of DownloadSudio and running Windows 7.
    Thanks in advance

Same problem here with Hotfile only since upgrading to ver 6.0.4 of studio.... site rules appear not to be activating. Was working perfectly before the upgrade.

There is a problem with DownloadStudio when getting cookies from Firefox, if the cookie has a '.' at the start of the domain (.rapidshare) then the cookie is not processed correctly by DownloadStudio. This has been fixed now and will be released with the next version of DownloadStudio. If you click a download link for the site it will take you to rapidshare or hotfile, etc. and the Firefox extension will pass the login cookie for that site to DownloadStudio, otherwise DownloadStudio searches the cookie jars for the cookie.

Thanks for the response Peter. For me, I typically highlight a list of hotfile links, chose copy, then right click and chose Download Studio, add List of jobs. Before this version, this would bring up the first box where it checks the links and gives download file size per line, click ok and away it went. Now all I get is the Zero file sizes and does not activate my premium hotfile account. (you are correct in that if I click a hotfile link and it loads in the browser first, it them activates Studio correctly - but for my type of use, thats too time consuming)
I hope you folks are releasing the fix soon, as this functionality was my primary reason for purchasing the product!

Which browser are you using? If you are using firefox then the fix for the cookie issue is in version 6.0.5 just released yesterday, if you download this version your hotfile downloads should be able to find the cookie.

Hello, I am having the same issue in Opera. Until a few days ago, I could download files normally as a premium user. Now it does not work any longer, not even in the latest update I installed today. I have my user details stored in the site rules, and I have enabled direct downloads in my RS profile.

Here is what happens: I click the link to download an AVI file from Rapidshare. Opera intercepts the click correctly. Notice that Opera says that the link points to an "AVI File".

Now DownloadStudio kicks in. The link is transformed to a web page - notice the content-type (text/html) and the size of the linked document.

And here is what I do to make it work, and please don't ask me why it works because I don't know. If you change the original link by appending ",htm" then DownloadStudio is able to fetch the file correctly:

Notice that now the link is shown pointing to a binary document with the correct size. It does not work if you append ".htm" or ".html" - but it works with a comma. I hope that this helps you somehow.

For sites like rapidshare, storing your login details in a site rule will not work, site rule login details only work for servers that use http login and for MegaUpload.com. Rapidshare uses a cookie that is stored in your browser's cookie jar for it's login, so DownloadStudio needs to get the cookie from the browser and send this with the request in order for rapidshare to recognize that you are a premium user. It looks like the cookie is being found correctly but the initial check link request is being returned as html, when you change the name of the url by appending ',htm' these extra values are ignored but it forces another check link to occur and this one resolves the file type correctly. If you don't add ',htm' and just click 'ok' does the file download correctly?

No - without the extra text, I get an HTML document instead of the requested file.

I'm not sure why this would happen, I have not been able to reproduce the behaviour you describe.
Please make sure you have your login cookie in Opera, go to 'Settings->preferences->Advanced->Cookies' then click the 'Manage Cookies...' button. From the list of cookies you should see one for 'rapidshare.com' with a value of 'enc: ' followed by a sequence of hexadecimal numbers. This is what DownloadStudio uses to Download from rapidshare.
If you paste the url into the opera address bar, http://www.rapidshare.com/files/4145...V.XVID-IHD.AVI, do you get the download dialog in opera?
If I paste the url http://www.rapidshare.com/files/4145...V.XVID-IHD.AVI into opera I get the download dialog, same again if I add .htm onto the end.

Interesting, your link works, however the link posted on the web site does not:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/41452635...V.XviD-iHD.avi
With this link I get the download dialog, however a HTML document is retrieved, telling "This file is larger than 200 Megabyte. To download this file, you either need a Premium Account, or the owner of this file may carry the downloading cost by making use of "TrafficShare"."
