    Default Sorting and displaying Incorrectly

    Hi

    I have set a few playlists and all have been set to sort by Title (ascending). When the video loads it is loading from the metatdata Album and not the title (even if I change this to Filename it still loads from Album - and as I have no way of chaning the metadata Album filed then this is teh name that is dosplaying in my Mezzmo name in the playlist.

    please can you tell me how to fix this. It is only a problem where I have a video when the metatdata tag for Album has been completed. If there is nothinfg in this field then the video is listed with teh correct name in my Mezzmo library display.

    Thanks

    Is the playlist sorted correctly in Mezzmo? i.e. when you view the playlist in Mezzmo, are the files listed in the right order?

    Hi Paul

    Yes the playlist is sorted correctly. The problem is the name that appears in Mezzmo. It is picking that up from the metatdata Album field and not the Title field (for example: Title = Assassins run, Filename = Assassins run, Album = Encoded by LC - Name that displays in the playlist is Encoded by LC - happens with all formats). If There is nothing in Album then it picks up the Title correctly. I have now tried to select "Use filename as Title" and have pressed maintain. I will see the result this evening when I get home.

    It sounds like the metadata contained in the files or the external metadata files are either wrong, or Mezzmo is reading the wrong metadata fields. Please right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information here so we can see what metadata is inside the video file. Also, if you are using external metadata files (*.xml, *.nfo, *.tgmd) then email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

    I have also attached an image of the metatdata from vlc (when running the movie). When adding the movie Troy to my library and using Title it loads "Troy 2004 Dir Cut By 3Li" as the title of the movie.

    Attached also is the FFmeg info for a movie (The terminator) that loads correctly in Mezzmo

    Title = The Terminator

    Hope all this helps. By the way if I set the library to use filenames as title then all seems to work perfectly

    Thanks

    Thanks for the FFmpeg information. For the Troy video, we can see that inside the video file, it has the following metadata:

    TITLE : Troy 2004 Dir Cut By 3Li

    Mezzmo is reading this metadata and making the title as it is stated in the video's metadata. So, I think Mezzmo is doing the correct thing here. I don't understand how VLC can make the TITLE metadata into Album-related metadata.

    If you want to turn off getting metadata from inside video files, then you can do this by going to the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog and turn off the "Get text metadata embedded in file" checkbox.
