Certain MKV's wont play on my LG Smart TV?

I'm trying out Mezzmo with my LG 42LN5700 Smart TV. I was planning on purchasing this but I have run into issues. Most videos play with no issues (AVI, ISO, MP4, etc.) and for the most part MKV's work fine also. It seems that MKV's with DTS audio will not play? I click the video on my LG TV and it says "Format not supported" and then it asks me if I'd like to play the next video in line. I don't understand why it's not transcoding properly? It's trying to transcode the audio to AC3 I believe. I can play 10gb MKV with no issues then I can try and play a 3GB MKV and it won't play. I right click on the video and click on the transcoding tab, here is what I see:

Thanks for the detailed information. There must be an attribute in the transcoded file that your TV model does not like. Please go back to the Transcoding tab on the Properties dialog and select the transcoded file listed there. Then click the 'Get FFmpeg Information' button and post that information here for us to check.

It's very strange, sometimes the MKV that is in question will play and sometimes it won't play. It's a hit or miss really. Like yesterday I got the error "Format not supported" and then today the video played.

I'm also having trouble with subtitles. Some movies allow me use them and some don't. The movie I played today using my WDTV streaming media player (on my Plasma TV) allowed me to use subtitles for the movie, it had 5 languages to choose from. When I tried playing the same movie with Mezzmo (streaming the movie from my PC to my LG TV) I couldn't use any subtitles, everything was grayed out.

Try this: Go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your device, On the Device Settings dialog to the Performance tab and move the Video bitrate slider halfway. Click OK to save your changes. Now pre-transcode the video again. This time, Mezzmo will create a transcoded video with a lower video bitrate and this may play fine. Let us know how it goes.

This problem is due to the way the LG TV reads transcoded files, it does a request for bytes beyond the available transcoded data and Mezzmo cannot complete this request so the device aborts. To resolve this you can try pre-transcoding the file or try editing the device profile in a text editor, look for understandsinvalidrange="0" and change it to understandsinvalidrange="1". After editing the device profile you will need to restart your Mezzmo media server. The device profile will be in your device profiles folder (see this thread for its location: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ofiles-located) named LGTV.prf, LGTV2012.prf or LGTV2013.prf.

Many devices are sensitive to audio and video bitrates. We know from experience that many devices will refuse to play files if the audio or video bitrates are too high. In your case, it may not be the bitrate - I was suggesting it may be one of the causes and it was something to check.

Your WD TV Live and LG TV have completely different firmware (i.e. different decoders and renderers inside them) so that fact that your WD TV Live can play your files does not tell you that your LG TV should/will also play them.

Did you delete your transcoded files and then pre-transcode the file after moving the slider? After pre-transcoding has completed, does the video play OK on your TV?

For Closed Circuit, if you don't want to see subtitles, then check if you can turn subtitles off using your TV's remote control. When the video is playing, press the Tools or Options or Settings button on your TV's remote control to see if there are subtitle settings. Most TV's let you turn them off. If you cannot, then on the Subtitles tab of the Properties dialog, uncheck all the subtitles listed and then delete your transcoded files and try streaming the video again.
