Question Controlling file types to be indexed

    Hey there-

I am having an issue whereby even if I turn off .vob files in File Browser they still show up in Mezzmo playlists (and .mkv files have no options in this section). There used to be a setting somewhere that allowed me to control what files are indexed based on a comma or semicolon delimited list of extensions, but I can no longer find it. I don't want Mezzmo to index anything but .mkv files in the Video container and playlists beneath it.

Is there any way to do this in the current version?

    Thanks,
    --Scott

    Hi Scott,

Two ways to filter what files are added and listed in Mezzmo:

    • When you use 'Add to Library' -> 'Scan Drive/Folder For Media Files', you can set the file types you want to scan for in the 'File filter' edit box. Use the Presets button to list common file types.
    • When you use 'Add to Library' -> 'Add folder', you can set the file types you want to list in your dynamic folder using the 'File filter' edit box. Use the Presets button to list common file types. For existing folders in your Mezzmo library, you can right-click on the folder in the tree in Mezzmo and click Properties to change the list of file types that will be displayed in your dynamic folder.

If you have already added various file types and don't want to see them, then you can delete all of them from your Mezzmo library except for those that you want - or you could add a rule like "[File extension] [is] [MKV]" to your smart playlists to filter them.
