Thread: Changing location for some files

Default Changing location for some files

    Hello,

All my movies and TV shows are in the same folder. The Mezzmo Video library is pointing to that single folder. I'd like to move the files of the TV shows to a separate folder but retain their metadata. I tried moving just one file to the new folder and noticed the metadata is not retained. Moving the file back to its original location restored the metadata, however I would like to move the files and retain metadata.

    How can this be achieved?

    Thanks in advance

Go to the Maintain Library dialog and click on the Tools tab. The Change Paths feature lets you change the folder paths for files in your Mezzmo library. Click Help for more details and example usage.

Thanks for the prompt reply Paul. I've done this with a test group of files but unfortunately the metadata wasn't preserved.

I moved the files back to their original location (using the Change Paths feature) and the metadata came back. So it looks like Mezzmo won't move the metadata for some reason (fortunately it remembers it for the original path).

    UPDATE:
Restarting the Mezzmo application resolved the issue.

    UPDATE2:
I've moved another group of files and Mezzmo doesn't seem to retain metadata properly, comes back when files are moved back. The process just seems unreliable for some reason.

Glad it works - upon restarting Mezzmo. We'll fix that up so you do not have to restart Mezzmo. Thanks for letting us know.
