Thread: No external subtitles when streaming with my lg home theater

Default No external subtitles when streaming with my lg home theater

    Hello,

I have an lg home theater and I am trying to stream avi and mkv movie files from mezzmo, but there are no subtitles showing. When I am using Nero Media Home that came with my home theater, everything is working correctly. So I know that my home theater is supporting external subs. I tried almost everything, I chose the Lg Bluray profile for my device, but still no subtitles. Is there anything I can do, or maybe a fix for that? I am using the latest version of mezzmo. Thank you,

    Kostas

    Hi Kostas,

First step, right-click on a video that has external subtitles and click 'Properties' in Mezzmo. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and check that your subtitles are listed there. If not, click Update Subtitles to reload the subtitle list. Once you see your subtitles listed, then go to the Media Devices dialog and make sure you are using the 'LG Bluray' device profile. The "LG Bluray" device profile supports most popular external subtitle format and streams them to your device.

If still no subtitles are displayed, please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and stream a video. When no subtitles are displayed, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. In your email, please also include the external subtitle file and we'll try it here with our LG BDP.

I will do this later tonight and I will send you the log file. I did the first step and the subs are listed in the Subtitles tab in the properties dialog. I have LG Bluray on my device profile. What profile do I have to use in the Mezzo device? I see two devices, one is my home theatre and the other one the mezzmo. By default its profile is Generic Device(NTSC). Here in Greece we are using PAL. Do I have to change it?

    Thank you

You can leave the device profile for Mezzmo. That is not related to your problem. Email us your logs and we'll know what the problem is.

Ok I did the procedure 3 times and all I get in the log folder are 3 other folders, which contain log files but with 0 bytes. And when I open the files, all I get is a blank page in the notepad. Am I doing something wrong, or should I email you these log files?

After turning on logging, you will need to stop your Mezzmo server and start it again. Then connect to Mezzmo from your LG device and stream a video that should have subtitles. When it does not display, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the log files and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

That's exactly what I did. I turned on logging, I stopped server, started it again, I streamed a video file from my Lg device, it played, but without subtitles, I stopped my server. I exit mezzmo. When I opened the folder that has the zip files, I can see the files but they are 0 bytes. Is it supposed to be like that? I am afraid that I will send you log files that are blank.
    Thanks

I've just sent the email with the log files and the subtitle file.
