Default mezzmo ioon servwer with 2 network cards

    Hi

I have Mezzmo running on me HP N54L which has 2 network cards
one is a gigabit the other is a 100mb both with different IP's

In Media devices I have told it to stream to me Pana GT50 TV via the gigabit card but when I go onto my TV I get 2 mezzmo's and if I choose the first its a bumpy ride as in splutters and stutters but if I choose the 2nd it is a smooth sailing.

Any way I can get rid of one of the instances?

    Thanks

    Akimba

    Hi Akimba,

That sounds strange. If you change the 'Network adaptor' setting in the Devices Settings dialog for your TV in Mezzmo from 'Automatic' to your gigabit card, then Mezzmo will only communicate over this network adaptor and you should only see one Mezzmo.

    A few things to try:

    • Turn off your TV and turn it on again. Your TV may be caching the media servers.
    • Turn off your router and turn it on again.
    • In Mezzmo, go to the Media Server Settings dialog and rename your Mezzmo server to another name (e.g. "Mezzmo (HP N54L)"). This will re-register your Mezzmo server as a Windows service and that may help.

    Hi Paul

Tried all that but still have the 2 Mezzmo's come up if I change the name then they both are named the same i.e. 2 instances of Mezzmo1 as say it must be due to the 2 ip addresses one for each card.

If I select the first mezzmo it must be for the ip address of the 100mb onboard nic which is when the programmes stutter,

If I select the 2nd Mezzmo listed it is fine which I am guessing is the 1GB Nic Address

I am presuming this only as I don't know any ideas>

You may need to remove the cards shown on the TV. I do not know about the Pana TVs but with the Sony BDPs they remember all media devices they saw. Check to see if you can clear the list then make certain that you have set Mezzmo to only use the Gb interface. Restart Mezzmo and turn on the TV to allow it to discover the media devices.

    All good suggestions, JohnM.

Also, perhaps Mezzmo installed on another PC on your home? Or, you have two Mezzmo servers running under two different user accounts on the same PC? You can check this by looking at Windows Control Panel / Services and look for multiple Mezzmo servers.

If that does not help, the it's best we see a set of logs. Turn off your TV. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Turn on your TV and list your media servers. When you see two Mezzmo servers, then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

    Hi

I didn't get the logs sorry but I got a screen shot of the media devices and as you can see there are 2 mezzmo's with different ip's and this is what I think my TV can see both of the mezzmo's.

Thanks for the screenshot. It tells you that Mezzmo server is being found and listed on both your network cards. Try this: Stop your Mezzmo server and delete all devices in the Media Devices dialog. Start you Mezzmo server again and your devices will be re-listed. Change the network adaptor from 'Automatic' to a specific network adaptor for your TV in the Device Settings dialog. Turn off your TV and turn it on again. If your TV is a Sony model, then uses your TV's remote control to go to Settings -> Network -> Server Display Settings. Press the Options button on your TV's remote and delete all servers and press the Options button again and update the server list.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I have 2 network cards but one is 1gb and the other is 100mb so I want all Mezzmo traffic to just go over the 1gb link and not show up for the 100mb one.

I have already defaulted my devices to use the 1gb link but on the TV (Panasonic) it still shows 2 Mezzmos and if I choose the wrong one its slow and juttery (like it is going over the 100mb) even tho this device should be over the 1gb.

I will try your suggestion tonight tho so thanks for your reply.

Seems to have worked thanks ;-)

It did come up with 2 gain to start with but 1 was inaccessible and then when used tv again only 1 was there ;-) So changing the network adapter work at treat.

    Thanks ;-)
