Default Problems with selecting/listing movies on Panasonic VT60

I'm having issues browsing a large directory of movies on my Panasonic 65VT60 TV.

There is one subdirectory that contains 56 movies (and a few other subdirectories with about 15 more) on my main computer running mezzmo 3.4.4.0. I am connecting to it with my VT60 (using the Panasonic Viera 2013 profile for Mezzmo). Everything works great except for that large directory, if I try to scroll past the first 18 or the last 18, it tells me server can't connect and doesn't allow me past it, so basically I can't see the middle 20 movies. I tried to recreate the directory with a new name on my PC to help clear out the bug, but it still behaves the same.

There are other directories with home video with greater than 56 files that work fine, but just this one directory does not.

This works just fine on my Samsung Blueray player BD5900 and PS3, but I'd prefer to just use the TV itself.

I noticed that 3.4.4.0 put in a fix:
"Fixed: Listing files sometimes stops working on Panasonic Viera TVs and BDP Blu-ray players."

But I confirmed I have that version and I'm still seeing the issue

Any hints as to what it going on would be appreciated!

    Regards,
    Rick

    Hi Rick,

We found that Panasonic TVs don't like metadata that is long (greater than 1000 characters). Metadata means Description, Actors, Genre, etc. So check your 56 files in that folder to see if any have a long metadata fields. To do this, in Mezzmo right-click on the first file in the folder and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, check for any long text in any of the edit boxes and trim them down so they are less than 1000 characters. Click the Next ">" arrow button on the top right of the Properties dialog to proceed to the next file in the folder. After doing this, try browsing the folder on your TV. Let us know how you go.

It worked! I removed the description from all of them and now I can scroll through the entire list. Thanks!

Glad that is working now . We'll make sure this does not happen for the upcoming Mezzmo v4.0.
