Default Problem with Apostroph to be displayed as ' in Title on Philips-TV

    Hello,

the question was around here in the forums at least twice, but with no real solution for me.

On my Philips-TV Typ 55PFL5507K the apostroph ´ found in quite some names (movie- and music-titles) gets displayed as ' .

Everything is great on the Samsung-TVs of the kids, only the big Philips does not get around on this with Mezzmo.

There was no such problem with the Philips and Serviio (there were others, though).

Is there any solution to solve this in Mezzmo?

    Sincerely

    Karl

    Hi Karl,

There is no tweak/setting to turn off this character escaping in Mezzmo since it is part of the DLNA guidelines. It's a pity the Philips firmware does not handle this correctly . I guess your workarounds are to either remove the single quote or replace it another character (perhaps the back quote - `).

Hmmm. I went quite some way with several DLNA-servers with twonky, tversity, serviio and now mezzmo and mezzmo is the first to stumble on this. Since we are talking about around 7.500 of mp3s and avis and I am not being payed for organizing my private media-data I would prefer running this without playing around with batch-files for renaming. At time I run serviio and mezzmo parallel on the same virtual machine. I guess I will keep it that way for a while and use what helps best in the specific situation, which will be serviio in most cases. Sorry to say that. Please put a device-specific switch for this on the wish-list.

    Sincerely

    Karl
