Default Display photos from Canon EOS 7D on Samsung

    Context : Canon EOS 7D, Samsung TV UE37C6820, Windows 7 (64bit), Mezzmo V2.1.9.0
Mezzmo works fine i.e. I can browse photos from/on the PC and display them on the TV, idem for video and audio.

Behaviour : Although I can display the photos, they always appear with a large black border on both sides. The photos are JPG's taken with the Canon, copied onto PC's Harddisk, not manipulated with Photoshop or any other software. They measure 5184X3456 pxl. If I look at the size of the photo on the TV, it says it is only 4096X2730.

Question : I suppose there is some resizing problem somewhere?
Does anybody recognize this? Anybody knows how to display full screen?

    Thanks for your help.

Is your camera a widescreen one? 5184x3456 makes a ratio of 1.5 but still not the same aspect as your TV. which will be 1920x1080.
It may be that Mezzmo is scaling down to 4096x2730 (which is still 1.5), the important thing is that the aspect is the same. Since Mezzmo is not changing the aspect ratio, you will see black spaces left and right. My Samsung does this too. I would prefer this rather than the image stretched horizontally, the pictures would look a little odd.

I expect your TV will show the same if using a USB cable or card reader?

    cheers

    I guess you are right.
I have indeed the same behaviour when I show the photos from the USB stick.
So this means it is 'behaviour by design'.
Thanks for clarifying this. It seems logic.
    Cheers,
    Luk.
