I'd like to vote for this feature too. Actually this is the one feature that it will allow me to keep using Mezzmo. Currently I use Plex for streaming over the Internet to a Chromecast, I'm not satisfied with its quality and I believe Mezzmo can do a much better job. Specifically, make sure that you only transcode when necessary, for exemple, I can't stream .srt subtitles without hard transcoding them first when using Plex.

Count me in Paul for another wishing for the type of prospective feature(s) being discussed here for Mezzmo.

I'm a licensed Mezzmo user and have predominantly always used and been happy with Mezzmo (which I have set up on a fairly beefed up computer to facilitate any transcoding requirements etc..)
That is until recently when I experimented with and discovered Plex.

Not to rain on Mezzmo's parade or speak too highly of a competitive type product here but I have to say I'm very impressed with the Plex feature set whereby I can have all my multimedia content available to me whilst away from home!

I have absolutely no android based product whatsoever so any developments around that platform are nothing for me.

Recently have had cause to spend much time and many a day at hospital for my daughter and being able to watch my movies and tv shows content (with fully browsable associated movie cover art / posters / backdrops etc) through the Plex iOS native app (on an iPad) and external from my home network was a god send!
I don't entirely understand the technicalities nor the mechanics of how it all works (except that it is obviously some server / client type get up?) but it does work and is truly remarkable stuff to me and was only ever being done over a Telstra 3g connection on the iPad.

So yes indeed if you could incorporate that type of similar (if not better ) Plex type external streaming feature / functionality whatever it's called into Mezzmo, that would be most fantastic and I'm sure hugely appreciated by all to place Mezzmo king of the pile!

    Cheers

I too would like to vote for external streamimg. I am a long time mezzmo pc user and now android as well. Great product all around, the addition of remote streaming would be a god send. One other feature I would like to see is the ability to set the static ip address of my mezzmo pc server in the mezzmo android app. I currently find the android app will find my pc server eventually, but the interval appears random and can take some time. Sometimes it is fast, sometimes slow. Children can be impatient, as well as myself. My pc servers ip is fixed, so self discovery really isn't needed for me. This could also potentially solve my remote streaming issues as I use a vpn to access my home network (self discovery just doesn't work from a different subnet).

Thanks for the vote for remote streaming. It is definitely on our "todo" development list. Regarding your Mezzmo Android app discovering and listing your Mezzmo server, it should happen very fast. One thing that can slow it down is if there is a lot of DLNA / UPnP traffic on your home network, then it could be slower for Mezzmo Android app and Mezzmo server to communicate with each other. One source of a lot of (unnecessary) UPnP traffic is from your router. Check your router's settings and turn off any UPnP settings, or increase the broadcast interval to a large interval. Reboot your router and see if that is better. If you are unsure what's the source of UPnP traffic, we can check this for you in a set of logs. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Exit your Mezzmo Android app and restart it. Wait until Mezzmo server is listed on the SERVERS tab in Mezzmo Android app and then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app on your PC. Zip up all logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
