    Default How to differentiate between Xvid & Divx in an AVI file

    I've 2 smart TVs that play virtually everything but can't handle Divx encoded AVI files, but are happy with Xvid encoded ones.

    As the title asks how can I code a PRF to enable transcoding to take place for Divx files but just stream Xvid ones?

    You can add the following tag to the format section:

    <format id="mpeg4" codectag="XVID" encode="1" codec="mpeg4" ffmpegadditional="mpeg4+encoding">

    See other .PRF files for examples (e.g. SonyPlaystation3.prf)

    Thanks Paul

    That codectag entry works perfectly for my Panasonic AS650.

    But I've a wee problem on my Sony W8 series. It now transcodes when it should but not playing properly, guess I need to look at any of the other changes I made for that new PRF.

    I wish other providers of software & services were as responsive as Conceiva.

    Thanks for your kind words . You can email us your .PRFs and we should be able to tune them to work as you wish. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and zip your .PRFs beforehand so our email server does not block them.
