    Default Movies and TV Series

Hi, am using Mezzmo 4.0.4 at the moment, and it has various DVD rips and recorded TV programs loaded (among other things). It appears that the TV series included under the TV series item/folder are exclusively those recorded from TV, while the TV series included under the Movies item/folder are exclusively those ripped from DVD's. This presumably depends on the file formats of the series. Should this be expected.

The 'Movies' active playlist contains videos that have a the Category attribute set to 'Movie'. The 'TV series' playlist contains videos that have a Category attribute set to 'TV show'. These category attributes are set automatically for your video files by Mezzmo when you add your files into Mezzmo or when you maintain your Mezzmo library. Mezzmo determines the Category value based on the metadata that is collects from external metadata files (.XML, .NFO, .TGMD) and from online metadata web sites such as thetvdb.com and themoviedb.org.

You can right-click on one or more videos in Mezzmo and change the Category value from 'Movie' to 'TV show' (or vice versa) and the files will be automatically moved the the corresponding playlist.

You can also right-click on the (say) 'TV series' playlist and click Properties. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, click the Smart Filter button and you will see the "[Catergory] [is] [TV show]" rule that the playlist uses to filter the video files.

If you have videos that have been incorrectly tagged as TV shows or movies, then we can look into that for you.

    Thanks Paul,

Am sure I can move TV Series from the Movies category to the TV Series category, and I probably will, just not sure how it will organize them - the TV Series that are in the TV Series category at the moment are nicely organised into separate series folders. Not sure if that will happen if I move them manually, though to be honest, I have so few TV series anyway, it probably won't make much difference.

There are some series that are incorrectly tagged as movies, such as Band of Brothers, Yes Minister, Only Fools and Horses, which I guess is why they are where they are. As I say, the series that were DVD rips are tagged as movies, and the ones recorded from my TV tuner are tagged as TV series. It may be because of the format they are in, or they way I ripped them. A DVD of say Band of Brothers has two episodes and was ripped into one folder, I didn't try to put the two episodes into different folders. The same goes for the other rips of Yes Minister etc.

Hope that's not too confusing. Thanks.
