    Default Error in GETSHORTPATHNAME

    Hi guys,

I am seriously considering to buy the product, but currently I am struggling with my setup, which have to be resolved for me to have it add value.

in short, media on the freecom (ref my setup below) isn't read, let alone transcoded. The tv simply states "not supported". files are AVI, VOB, and others. Vob from pc IS displayed. on the tv all indexing, playlists and thumbnails behave correctly

when I look in the logfiles, one of the things that srtikes me is the following error

    *** ERROR IN GETSHORTPATHNAME FOR \\FND\media\video\ingelezen bandjes\band 11\band 11- 4.avi (53) ***: Invalid data found when processing input

    and in the mediaservice file:
    6701 - Sep 25 16:43:32.452 - WARN > 104C [ Generic Device 1]: OnContentRequest: Waiting to open: \\FND\media\movies\2012\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.vob

    6702 - Sep 25 16:43:32.452 - WARN > 104C [ Generic Device 1]: OnContentRequest: Failed to open: Invalid flag (\\FND\media\movies\2012\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.vob)

any idea how I resolve this?

    thanks

    peter

    Hi Peter,

One of the most likely reasons for this is that the permissions on that folder do not allow the Mezzmo server (which is actually a Windows service) to resolve that path correctly. Do you run a domain or a workgroup? Are there any restrictions on accessing that folder for any users?
