Thread: samsung un50h5500afxza Profile

  1. #1

    Default samsung un50h5500afxza Profile

Am I right in assuming that the profile I should use for my samsung un50h5500afxza device should be H?

It was set to C but after reading and somewhat getting confused I think I figured it was H but wanted clarification.

You are right - choose the 'Samsung H' device profile for your Samsung H-series TV.

Follow up question... What is the difference between the samsung C and H device profile.

I noticed subtitles weren't displaying when switched to the H profile.

There are quite a few differences in video format support, music format support, photo format support and subtitle format support since Samsung H-series TVs support quite a lot more formats compared to the older Samsung C-series. Regarding subtitles not displaying, what is the FFmpeg information for the video that you are streaming? Right-click on the video and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Also what associated subtitle do you have for this video - embedded subs or external subtitle file? And what format is the subtitle (SRT, SUB, ASS, SMI, etc.)? That will help us understand what's happening.

Heres the information on a video that will play subtitles on neither (why I've been messing with the profiles).

Interesting results. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream the first MKV file with both the H & C device profiles and then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

For the 2nd MKV file, right-click on it on Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and you should see the embedded subtitles and the (Mezzmo auto-extracted) subtitles listed there. Select the auto-extracted subtitle and click 'Subtitle Settings'. Check that the subtitles appear OK on the Subtitle Settings dialog.
