Thread: Multi editing metadata in Tv-Series possible?

Default Multi editing metadata in Tv-Series possible?

I have some issues with getting correct metadata from different tv series like e.g. Marvels agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hawaii Five-0. Mezzmo will not find the correct metadata for all episodes. I do not want to edit each episode seperate so i wonder why i can not choose to edit all at once. Yes it it possible to enter imdb or tvdb number but when marking all episodes no datas will be imported.
I think it should go as follows:
    - marking the series in the main series folder
    - choose to click get online information
    - all tv datas will be imported for all episodes
Is there a chance to do it so?

There's no way to do this in the current version of Mezzmo (v4.0.6.0) but we'll look into it for a future version. Probably the best thing to do is to name your video files so that Mezzmo can automatically find the TV series, season and episode and then it will automatically look up the information from online web sites and collect the correct metadata.

Mezzmo current supports these file naming styles:

    C:\folder\Movie Title.avi
    C:\folder\Movie Title YYYY.avi
    C:\folder\Movie Title (YYYY).avi
    C:\folder\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi

If Mezzmo is not automatically picking up the metadata for your video files, then post the full file path for the video files and we'll look into what's going wrong.

Thanks for the examples. For TV shows, Mezzmo searches www.thetvdb.com. It's API for searching can produce zero or wrong results based on the search terms (which Mezzmo collects based on your file paths). Our understanding is that thetvdb.com's devs are improving their search engine to be more flexible.

    Some tips regarding your files:
    - "\\WHS\Serien\Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D\Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S1E22 Der Anfang vom Ende-2014_06_27_20_13_00.wtv": Remove the dots, then it works OK - i.e. "- \\WHS\Serien\Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D\Marvel's Agents of SHIELD S1E22 Der Anfang vom Ende-2014_06_27_20_13_00.wtv"
    - \\WHS\Serien\Hawaii Five-0\Hawaii Five-0 S3E13 Block A-2014_07_03_22_48_00.wtv: Remove the dash, then it works OK - i.e. \\WHS\Serien\Hawaii Five-0\Hawaii Five0 S3E13 Block A-2014_07_03_22_48_00.wtv.
    - \\WHS\Serien\House of Cards (US)\House of Cards S2E2 Ein Freund der Familie.wtv: Add (US) to the series name and with works OK - i.e. \\WHS\Serien\House of Cards (US)\House of Cards (US) S2E2 Ein Freund der Familie.wtv
    - \\WHS\Serien\NCIS Los Angeles\Navy CIS- L.A. S5E13 Hawala.wtv: Change 'Navy CIS' to 'NCIS Los Angeles' and it works fine - i.e. \\WHS\Serien\NCIS Los Angeles\NCIS Los Angeles S5E13 Hawala.wtv

    Thanks, your tips helped.
Last question is that i have some (corrupted? ) wtv files where mezzmo indicates them as typ audio (musik in my Case where i only can add infos to artist, albums and so on but not for series). Can i do these files change manually to type video so that i can get series info?

Just wanted to throw in a tip that a free program by the name of theRenamer (http://therenamer.com/) makes easy work of doing things like this. It works with both TV and Movies and uses the services of IMDb.com, TV.com, theTVDB.com and EPGUIDES.com. My video collection would be a real mess if I didn't use it.

Glad that's working better now . For the WTV files, right-click on them and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that info here and we'll know why Mezzmo is regarding them as audio files.
