    Default maintaining itunes playlists

hi guys new user here currently evaluating

initial setup scan added all my itunes music and itunes playlists without issue. so far so good. i've since created a new non smart playlist within itunes and launched mezzmo desktop and noticed the new playlist was not added so ran a 'maintain library' but when complete the new playlist was still not added. thinking i was doing something wrong i thought i'd try something else. i went back into itunes and removed a random song from one of the other playlists and then ran another 'maintain library' within mezzmo. the song that i removed from the itunes playlist was not removed from the corresponding itunes playlist within mezzmo.

    what am i doing wrong?

Everything you did sounds fine. Possibly your changes to your iTunes library have not been saved to disk so, try exiting iTunes (which will force the changes to be saved to disk) and then run Maintain Library again in Mezzmo.

If no better then try this: Delete the "iTunes" playlist from Mezzmo (when prompted, don't delete the files though). Now click "Add To Library" -> "Add iTunes Library". After your iTunes library is re-added and you see your iTunes playlist listed again in Mezzmo, go back to iTunes and make a change to your iTunes library (e.g. add a playlist, etc.) and then run Maintain Library again in Mezzmo. Let us know if that works.

    hi paul

the first suggestion did not work. so deleted and re-added the itunes library as above, started itunes and deleted a couple of tracks from one of the playlists then exited itunes (flie > exit) then hit 'maintain library' button on the toolbar with the red icon the system tasks completed and............it worked! i'm so happy! i've used twonky for a couple of years but a few issues recently with playlists have led me to you guys and now my query has been sorted i'm ready to purchase. thanks again!

    forgot to ask

there are a couple of itunes playlists from the 'add to' above that i don't need in meezmo so if i right click them and hit delete what should i do with the prompt 'also delete the file(s) from your meezmo library' and would they get re-added next time i maintain the library?

Glad that works now . Mezzmo will sync your iTunes playlists & files into your Mezzmo library, so deleted playlists will re-appear after maintenance. Perhaps consider removing them from iTunes if you don't need/use them. Regarding the 'Also delete the files from your Mezzmo library' checkbox, selecting the checkbox will remove the files contained in your playlist from your Mezzmo library or, not selecting it will keep those files and they will remain part of your Mezzmo library (you will be able to see the files under other playlists such as Artist, Album Artist, Genre, Recently Added, etc.).
