Thread: Aspect ratio problem

    Default Aspect ratio problem

    Hello,

I have installed the Trial Version of Mezzmo since a view days.
The program is exact what I was looking for, but I have one problem.

When I stream e.g. a divX movie in 21:10 format it appears in 16:9 on my Sony Bravia TV. As a result the picture is stretched (e.g. a sun appears oval and not as a circle).

On my PC is aspect ratio is OK.

What can I do to solve the problem?

    Mark

    Hello Mark,

Can you please post FFmpeg information (in Mezzmo right-click on the file and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command) about that file and I'll try to simulate it here as well. I've seen the Bravia do weird things for "non-standard" dimensionsed files, so in that case we could force it to re-transcode the file into something the TV can display properly.

    Hi,

thank you for the profile. I tested it, but the result is the same.
    The picture is still streched.

    Any idea?

    Regards

    Hi Mark,

Please send new logs to support, as I need to see whether the new profile is applying new settings. Also, one thing I may have forgotten to mention is that you'd need to clear your transcoding files (using the Transcoding Settings dialog for example), so that they're re-transcoded.

    Hi Dennis,

I just deleted the temporary transcoded files and the aspect ratio is OK now, but I have to change the TV Setting from "wide" to "zoom" (this did not work before).

So it is not perfect (because normally the aspect ratio should be ok in "wide" mode), but it is working now.

    Thanks

    Mark
