Default Mezzmo and Window Media Player

It seems I should be able to use Windows Media Player to watch video from my Mezzmo server. (I have WMP 12.0.7601.18150, and latest version of Mezzmo)

I see some other of my UPNP devices in WMP's view and in Windows 7 ("ultimate" version) NETWORK explorer window under MEDIA DEVICES but I do not see my Mezzmo server.

My Mezzmo server is working fine to my Android tablets, my Panasonic Vierra TV, and a Blu-Ray player.

Shouldn't Mezzmo show up with the other UPNP servers in my Windows 7 PC's NETWORK explorer?

While I'm talking about Windows, is there a way to watch Mezzmo movies in Windows Media Center? Seems like if Mezzmo should work with Windows Media Player as a client, then it should work with Windows Media Center which is based on WMP technology. Again I'm thinking that because my Windows 7 PC can't "see" my Mezzmo server in it's UPNP view of things, there's some settings somewhere I need to change.

I have two Windows 7 (ultimate) PCs (Well, three actually but one is the server), and Mezzmo DOES show up as a media device server in the NETWORK explorer view on one these PCs but not the other. I'll have to look at the networking setup between the PC that doesn't show Mezzmo in NETWORK explorer, and the one that does.

Has to be something with the networking setup, something in Windows.

On the PC which does "see" Mezzmo as a DNLA server, Mezzmo video plays just fine in Windows Media Player 12. Windows Media Center doesn't seem able to see Mezzmo. Maybe some kind hearted soul will code up a Mezzmo Add-In from Windows Media Center.

I have spent the afternoon trying to figure out why the Mezzmo server does not show up in the NETWORK explorer of one of my Windows 7 machines, but shows up on the other Windows 7 machine's NETWORK explorer. All my other UPNP devices show up in the NETWORK explorer of the "offending" PC, including the Logitech Media Server that is running on the SAME MACHINE as Mezzmo. I am stymied. I turned the Windows firewall off completely on the "offending" machine. I tried clearing and then re-setting up my network settings on that machine. I tried static IP and tried DHCP for the "offending" PC. I ran a windows system file checker scan, which found no problems (http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/929833) Made sure all my Windows 7 machines were in my Homegroup. Turned off / rebooted / then turned back on NETWORK DISCOVERY. None of this made any difference.

All the other UPNP / DNLA Media Devices show up EXCEPT Mezzmo on my Windows 7 server. I installed the Mezzmo app on my Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1, and THAT shows up both as a client and a server in NETWORK explorer on the "offending" PC. But NOT the Mezzmo server on my Windows 7 server box, which is were the ~10 TB of media files are stored.

Wish I knew what else to check.

Something must be blocking DLNA / UPnP communication between that one PC and your Mezzmo server. Typically that could be your router's settings or your firewall. We have an FAQ that lists the possible causes and how to fix them - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ur-DLNA-device. Check each possible cause listed in the FAQ and hopefully you will get up and running. If no success, let us know and we'll help further.
