Default No files listed on Sony Bravia or PS3

I'm not quite certain what happened, but Mezzmo seems to have stopped streaming to both my 2011 Sony Bravia (KDL 46EX720) and my PS3.

It was working fine then it just stopped. The message is that there is "No Files", which is not the case, as the files are listed on the main screen.

It just "stopped" working. I'm not a whiz at this stuff so could you keep it simple.

Also, I was wondering if there was a limit to the amount of files that Mezzmo can handle. I ask because the software crashes when I try to "Maintain Library". I have quite a large collection over more than one drive, but up until now there wasn't a real problem. Is there some kind of adjustment I can make to get the library to update.

I'm also under the impression that certain formats might work better than others. Is it my imagination or do formats like mp4's work better.

I've also noticed that avi files don't always work, which I am guessing is a transcoding issue, which may also be causing the crash. The PS3 handles the avi files but the Bravia does not.

I also have trouble with subtitles. Most of the time, I keep them in the same folder as the media file, but it looks like they may have to be in a separate location, and altogether. Am I right?

It's best we see a set of logs. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging). Restart your Mezzmo server. Now try to play some files on your TV or PS3 to reproduce the problem you mention. When you have reproduced it, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Regarding the crashes when you run Maintain Library, we'd like to see the crash dump files so we can fix this problem. When a crash occurs, you will see the Mezzmo crash window. On this window, click the 'Go To Folder' button and then email us the crash dump ZIP file(s). If the ZIP files are over 10MB in size, then you will need to upload them to a filesharing site like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, mega.co.nz, etc. and then email us the download link.

I figured out what was happening with the content issue, but there seems to be some issues with specific file types. There seems to be a notable lack of "avi" files in the new content and There is still a maintenance problem. I tried "repairing" the mezzmo app, and it helped with some of the issues, but it's still lagging in the transcoding and maintenance issues.

I also noticed that there is no "Recently Added" or "Last Played" on the menu either at the computer or on the renders. Is this because they are not in the new version, or is it reflective of an issue, internally on my server? I liked those options, and I wondered if my attempts to set things write might have "removed" them. I know I didn't knowingly do it, but even after the "repair" they are not there.

Lastly, I have some files with subtitles, "srt" mainly. Do they have to be in a separate file folder and all together for Mezzmo to use them. I know they have to have the same name as the file, but I was hoping to keep them with the media file.

BTW, what email should I email the dump files to?

Mezzmo does include the Recently Added and Last Played playlists. If you don't see them, then either you have deleted them by mistake or your Mezzmo library may be corrupt in some way. In this case, it might be best to re-create a new Mezzmo library and add your files back into it. This will ensure you have all default playlists again and your Mezzmo library is not corrupt. To create a new Mezzmo database, go to the Options dialog (General page) and click 'Reset Database'.

Mezzmo picks up all your subtitle files when you add them into your Mezzmo library or when you maintain your library. By default, Mezzmo looks for them in the same folder with the same file name, or you can also specify a folder path where they exist. You can check if Mezzmo has picked up the subtitles after adding your files. Simply, right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab to see all subtitles for this video. There is more useful information about using subtitles in Mezzmo here - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...titling-Basics.

I get the feeling that some of the problems I am having may actually be from a corrupted library database.

I will reset the library and see if my problems may actually be tied to that.

    Thanks for listening.

BTW, I've noticed that Mezzmo has a disconcerting tendency to show as "Not responding" but not crashing. Is this common?

Let us know how you go with the new database. Your logs did show numerous database access timeouts and this results in the "Not responding" issue you were seeing. The new database should fix this problem.
