Use CHROME CANARY: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrom...er/canary.html
Quote:
"Google Chrome Canary has the newest of the new Chrome features.
Be forewarned: it's designed for developers and early adopters, and can sometimes break down completely."
You can install Canary next to the "normal" Chrome. Canary is faster and very stable.
DownloadStudio extention is not blocked in Chrome Canary.
Update: DownloadStudio v10.0 has been released and the DownloadStudio Chrome extension is now available in the Google Chrome web store.

Paul, As of two days ago, Download Studio is missing from the store...I just did an OS reinstall on the laptop and once I set up Download Studio it would not integrate with Chrome as the store link comes up empty. As it's the most widely used browser, this is not good.
Sorry about that. The good folks at Google recently took down our DownloadStudio extension from Chrome Web store for some reason . We're trying to get an explanation from Google why this happened & why we can no longer publish it on Chrome Web store.
For the moment, it's best to email us directly at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll try to get it loaded into your web browser without going via the Chrome Web store.

I tried following the FAQ for installing the Chrome extension manually but when I tried running gpedit.msc I got an error saying it couldn't be found. Is there a workaround for this?
Hi,
if you are running Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Basic you will not have gpedit.msc, please see http://www.askvg.com/how-to-enable-g...rter-editions/ for a workaround to install it.

2 things -
a) Microsoft does not recommend installing it via any method other than an OS upgrade (no surprise)
b) I'm not comfortable downloading an OS tool that needs admin privileges from a site other than Microsoft.com
A system hack doesn't strike me as the best route to go for commercial product.
