Default Mezzmo 4.1 issue with heywords

I just noticed an issue with keywords and Smart playlists using them since upgrading to 4.1 I used keywords for my favorites and then would use a Smart Playlist to search on them. I went to look at one of my favorites Smart playlist and found nothing in it. Going back to a video that I knew should be there and the keyword field was blank which would explain why it was missing. So I added the keyword back and it appeared but oddly the Smart Playlist doesn't even have the keyword search in the properties. It looks like something was changed with keywords between 4.0 and 4.1 . I am attaching a screenshot to show this. keyword_playlist.jpg . You will see a video now in the playlist yet the playlist has no properties, since the 4.1 upgrade. This is really impossible (i.e. something show up in a playlist that has no filter properties). This video appeared when I added the keyword back to its properties.

I did some more testing and keywords seem to be completely broken. I created a new smart playlist and the filter was simply Keyword = test. I then updated a video file and added test to the keyword field. I went back to the Smart Playlist and it didn't appear. Hopefully you can reproduce this easily.

We have just fixed this issue. If you wish, we can provide a patch to you now by emailing us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com - or you can wait until early next week when we release a minor update for all users (Mezzmo v4.1.2) and it will include the fix.

I have a similar issue: I have a couple of smart play lists (already since Smart Playlists are available in Mezzmo). After the recent update to 4.1.1, I noticed that all Smart Playlists are empty. Only after adding some NEW items to the Mezzmo db (e.g. adding a couple of NEW videos to the directories monitored by Mezzmo), the Smart Playlists show suddenly the list of videos completely correct -until next day, when again, the smart playlists are blank and I have to add new items to make them appear again. I tried already modifying the properties of the play lists, maintain library , Refresh - all without success. Is that the same problem as the one fixed in 4.1.2 or do you need more info? I requested also the patch via email to support.

I had them send me the patch that will be included in 4.1.2 . It works but there are a couple of caveats. If you've run a Maintain database then the keywords will be deleted from your individual file properties. I had so I ended up doing a database restore from a few days prior. Second, the playlists were missing the keyword search property. I had to add those back in.

    Hi wback,

It's best we see a set of logs and we'll know if your problem is different to that already fixed. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Exit Mezzmo (Windows) app and run it again. Now reproduce the empty playlists by browsing into them using Mezzmo (Windows) app and/or your devices. Once reproduced, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

    Paul,
After I did some research, it looked to me as if the Mezzmo database got messed up somehow during the update to 4.1.x. After I backed up the old db, Reset the db and loaded it newly, I didn't face any issues anymore. The Smart Playlists are working fine and also all the other small issues I had before disappeared and Mezzmo is working fine now again. Unfortunately, that action caused a lot of work for me, since the media mega data / Keywords for my complete collection of around 8000 videos got lost and I'll have to recreate them over the next several weeks (if not months). I'm looking into programmatically extracting the info from the backed up db and updating the new db with that info (of course after making a new backup of the new db) - gives me at least a chance to use my programming skills again (tic). For now, you can consider my problem as solved (unless you have a tool that performs that kind of copying the info from one db to another, based on the path/filename).

Glad you are back up and running. It is strange that your Mezzmo database was the cause. Can you upload the old db to a filesharing site like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or mega.co.nz and email us the download link to support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll then be able to analyse the database for errors & make sure it does not happen again.

Regarding collecting metadata for your videos, assuming they are movies or TV shows, then Mezzmo will automatically collect the metadata, posters and backdrops for them. It performs best if your filenaming is as follows:

    C:\folder\Movie Title.avi
    C:\folder\Movie Title YYYY.avi
    C:\folder\Movie Title (YYYY).avi
    C:\folder\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
    C:\folder\Title Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
