    Default Finding missing data

I have a fairly large number of TV shows that for some reason have not been found in any of the online databases so they are missing at least some of the data needed to properly categorize them and get them to show up properly in the playlists. Considering the number of items involved I'd prefer not having to hunt them down manually. It occurred to me I could perhaps use a playlist to assist with this so I tried creating one that would contain only items where the track/episode was missing. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to specify this as the playlist definition requires a numeric entry when using track/episode.

If there's already a way to easily identify the files that haven't been properly categorized I'd appreciate a pointer to it. Otherwise, is there any way to create a playlist that will contain entries with missing data?

The easiest way is to create a smart playlist to list the files that you are interested in. Try this:

    • Click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Smart Playlist'.
    • On the Smart Playlist dialog, give your playlist a name (e.g. Not Yet Filled In)
    • Add two rules:
      [Category] [does not contain] [Movie]
[Category] [does not contain] [TV show]
    • Select the Video files radio button and click OK to save your playlist
    • Now you have a playlist that lists all your video files that are not movies or TV shows.
    • You re-edit the playlist by right-clicking on it in the tree and clicking Properties. This lets you change the rules as you wish.

This doesn't seem to work as expected. All I'm getting are the DVDs that have been ripped to vobs. None of the TV shows or movies that have no category defined are showing up in the playlist.

Take a screenshot of the Smart Playlist Properties dialog and post it here and we should know what's happening.

Found the problem. I originally just modified an existing, disused playlist. The problem was that it was restricted to Library/Video. I guess the issue is with these files is no categorization has been done so Mezzmo hasn't put them in the Video portion of the library. When I did the playlist on the entirety of the library it came up with all kinds of matches.
