Thread: How to Stream to Chromecast

Default How to Stream to Chromecast

    Hello,

I confused about how to do this. I have Mezzo (paid version 4.1.3.0)

I just got Chromecast as a gift and it is cool. So I was thinking that I could probably play movies from my Mezzmo Library to Chromecast and my TV, but I'm not following how to do this? I feel like I need some very basic instructions?

I thought I would just play a movie from Mezzmo on my laptop from the Mezzmo movie player (I thought there was a Mezzmo movie player within Mezzmo) Then I would hit the chromeast icon in the upper right corner, just like you do with Google Chrome, and it would play to the TV? But when I play a movie from Mezzmo, it opens it up in VLC Media player, which is probably my default player.

Can someone provide some more basic instructions on how to do this? Or is it doable?

(This was posted in another thread also, but I could not find where it was placed, and was worried it might be a deleted thread?)

For playing movies, TV shows, music or photo slideshows from your Mezzmo library to your Chromecast dongle, you need to use our Mezzmo Android app on your Android smartphone or tablet.

See this FAQ to understand how to get up and running - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...gle-Chromecast

I hadn't planned to use a smart phone. I don't have a tablet, don't have a need for one, or so I thought.

So I'm going to have to buy a tablet, download an Android App to the tablet, and then have the tablet stream from my laptop, and then have the tablet stream to the TV? So the tablet is a go between?

Yes, your tablet or smartphone kind of acts like a remote control. You simply install Mezzmo Android app onto it, and Mezzmo Android lets you browse your Mezzmo library on your PC, select a device to stream to and then play selected files on your device(s). It's a real convenient way to stream files in your home. You get full playback control as well - Play, Stop, Pause, Next File, Previous File, Seek, Shuffle, Repeat, Volume, etc. Check out our Mezzmo Android web page to get a better idea - http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...d_features.asp.
