Thread: Alternate Transcode Server

    Default Alternate Transcode Server

Is there a way to specify a server other than the Mezzmo server to perform the transcoding or even pre-transcoding?

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,

No - Mezzmo media server on your PC performs all the transcoding on-the-fly whilst streaming and Mezzmo app on your PC does all the pre-transcoding. What is the problem you are having?

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

    No real problem...

My server running Mezzmo isn't fast enough to transcode on the fly so I'm pre-transcoding everything for now but that is very slow.

I have a Fedora Linux machine that has ffmpeg installed and it's very fast. I was just wondering if I could use it to get the files transcoded.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,

Understand. FYI - we do have distributed transcoding as a future feature for Mezzmo where you can take advantage of other computers on your home network.
