Default Samsung Smart TV DLNA Issue - AllShare vs replacement Smart Link embedded app.

Hello to all and especially the wise sages of Mezzmo.

Need a simple, easy answer here as time is of the essence due to return privileges.

    First, the bona fides...

I am running Version 4.1.3.0 on a Dell T610 Dual Hex-Core with Server 2008 R2 up to date as well.

I have many devices, including various Popcorn Hour, WDTV, eGreat and a few other lesser know "also-ran" models and also a few
"Smart TV's" which is why I am here.

There are just some model Smart TV's that don't work properly, and I accept that, however I have 2 recent Samsung
TV's that are the crux of this post.

The Samsung 40" 2013 Model UN40EH5300FXZA with what WAS called AllShare as the embedded DLNA app is called on that model,
pretty much works as desired with Mezzmo and my video library.

The Samsung 40" 2014 Model UN40H6350AFXZA that I just bought with the "New & Improved AllShare replacement" embedded
DLNA app called Samsung Link only allows PLAY on the remote control. No other functions work. No FF, RW, Pause or Search will
work and the TV returns a "Not Available" response when tried. The OLDER TV ALLOWS most of these functions in one way or another.

After several tries contacting various Samsung support portals, I have come to the conclusion that if nobody here has a solution
for this that I am simply going to return the TV to Amazon and get one of the older model that I already have since THAT one
    works acceptably.

Thanks for any and all replies.

Streaming to the Samsung Link app on your TV should be fine. We have not had any reports of it being limited in its playing capabilities. First thing to check is the device profile assigned to your TV in the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo. It should be using 'Samsung H'. Also, check that transcoding is turned on - go to the Device Settings dialog (Transcoding tab) to check this.

Paul, you are a giant amongst men. I have so many things that access my network that I sometimes forget to clear the list. The TV wasn't in the Mezzmo device list (though it DID play videos.... how strange) Anyway, I totally cleared the device list and looked again... VOILA, it saw it and assigned the correct profile. I do not do any transcoding.... if it doesn't play I will fix the file myself so that it works on 99% of whatever is thrown at it. No transcoding and set with the H profile it works as it should. Whoulda thunk it. I shall make that the 1st place to look from now on. Again, thanks for the timely advice and support. Happy New Year to you and the rest of the staff.... and everyone else for that matter.

Glad that works (and you don't have to return your new TV!). Hope you have a great New Year too!

    Paul,
I'm in the trial period of Mezzmo, using a Samsung LED H7150 Smart TV. Model UN60H7150AFXZA.
The Samsung Link doesn't exist. Instead I have Samsung Smart View 2.0. Samsung is showing me
Mezzmo 1 and Messmo 2. Neither one will connect. The message is "request cannot be completed.
It will be returned to the main screen." The device profile assigned to my TV is 'Samsung H' and
transcoding is on. Using a Belkin n600 router with Twonky media server on the USB drive. I disconnected
the drive but the software can't be disabled with the router manager.

    Hi Warren,

Everything seems to be setup correctly, but it seems something on your home network is blocking DLNA/UPnP communication. It's best we see a set of logs to determine what's going wrong. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. On your TV try to connect to Mezzmo and browse some playlists/folder and play some files. When that fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all your logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
