Default Transcoding issues on Panasonic TX-L55WTW60

    Hello ,
I use Mezzmo some years ago, but on this weekend I played a little bit with the Profiles.
    With VIERA no Divx
    .m2ts playing without transcoding> that's fine
.avi (DX50) playing with transcoding > that's fine because DIVX cant play the TV
    .mp4 playing without transcoding> that's fine
.mkv playing with transcoding > that's bad because the TV can play it!
    .avi(xvid) playing without transcoding> that's fine
But I recognized by access some folders I get the messages "Server error"

When I use the VIARA 2013
I can access all folder without the error messages.
.m2ts playing with transcoding > Why? TV can play that. See above.
.mkv some transcoding some mkv not transcoding.
    .avi(xvid) Cant play
.avi (DX50) Cant play > should be transcodet
It is possible to set which files the TV can play and which files not?

    Thanks
    Joerg

    Hi Joerg,

If you like, we can tweak a device profile to better match your TV's capabilities. You can turn off transcoding in Mezzmo (via the Transcoding Settings dialog) and Mezzmo will always stream your original files to your TV and that will help you determine what it can play and cannot play. For each of these files, right-click on them and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Email us the FFmpeg information to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Regarding MKV, MKV is a file container and inside it can be many different video codecs (h264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VC-1, etc.), audio codecs (AC-3, AAC, MP3, DTS, etc.) and subtitles (SRT, SUB, SMI, etc.). Your TV (and any other device that we know of) does not support all possible codecs - so there will be some restrictions on what MKVs it can play. If you send us the FFmpeg information for the files that play and do not play, then we can better determine the capabilities of your TV.

    Hi Paul,
ok thanky , I'll create the infos soon (coming weekend) and will sent it to the support.
Will it be a future feature in the settings that the people can choose which files should be transcoded and which not? Maybe as a expert setting.

    regards,
    Jörg

Yes - we do have this planned so that users can modify their device's supported formats.
