Question Stream video from android to DLNA TV

    Hello,

I downloaded the trial version of Mezzmo Android App
    - My device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 connected in wi-fi
    - My Tv is a Toshiba Regza with DLNA support connected in ethernet

I'm trying to stream local videos from my Android device to my TV
How can i do that ?

I have tried to read files on my TV from my android device: photos and music are ok but not the videos, I have on error on the tv screen
I don't see my DLNA Tv in the device tab of the android app, so i can't stream from Galaxy to TV

    Can you help me ?
    Thanks

When streaming videos from your Android tablet using Mezzmo Android app's media server on to your TV or other devices in your home, videos are streamed directly to your TV without any transcoding. So if your TV does not support the video format of the video streaming from your tablet (...probably MPEG-4), then you will get an error on your TV saying that the video cannot be played. The reason for not transcoding on your tablet is that your Android device does not have the CPU and memory performance to transcode videos on-the-fly - unlike Mezzmo (Windows) server installed on your Windows PC, which can do this.

Given your TV does not support your tablet's recorded video format, then if you want to see these videos on your tablet on your TV, then I suggest you sync/download the tablet's videos onto your PC and add them into your Mezzmo library. Then you can stream them using Mezzmo (Windows) server and full transcoding will take place.

    Thanks for your answer Paul.

That's what I thought, but on this page, it says that :
Server Features : Select 'Mezzmo server (Local)' to stream video, music and photos stored on your Android device.
May be you can be more accurate on this part...

Do you think it will work to stream videos like this : Android device > Chromecast > TV
Does Chromecast can transcode the video ?

    Thanks, regards

It will work if your videos are a video format that Chromecast supports. Chromecast dongles do not transcode/convert your videos; it just plays them.
