Question What is the Magic Process for using the Library/Playlist Maintain Functions?

Using v4.1.3.11 (special version). Although I am using a patched version, the issue is present in earlier versions such as 4.1.3.0.

I do not seem to be able to get maintenance to see updates to existing files. I have tried maintaining the entire Library, the Playlists with the files, and the files themselves. The specific example I have is an Album with 16 mp3 music files in it. The name of the folder is Movies Go To The Opera. The name of the Album was also Movies Go To The Opera. As a test I used Windows properties to change the Album name of all 16 songs to be Films Go To The Opera.

After doing maintenance at every level possible in Mezzmo, the listing still shows the Album name to be Movies Go To The Opera. However, the FFmpeg info for a file show the updated Album name beginning with Films. Here is the FFmpeg info on one of the songs:

The FFmpeg info is correct and shows the updated album name. However, no amount of maintenance or restarting Mezzmo will cause its display to show the updated album name.

I just don't get it. And I have had other updating problems too but I will deal with them later.

Is the problem that I have the maintenance option set to only update new files or files with empty attributes? In my case I have an old file with updated attributes, not empty attributes.

OK, so I just changed the option to update all attributes and it did it. I was trying to avoid getting all new info from some internet database (in general I don't want that) but I also found all the updating options to tell Mezzmo to just get info from the files themselves. Maybe I have solved my own problems. We'll see.....
