Thread: Wake Server - Android App

  1. #1

Default Wake Server - Android App

Mezzmo Server is running on a Windows 8.1 PC. When accessing the server from a Sony Blue Ray player, the PC will wake up if it is sleeping. When using the Mezzmo Android App on my cellphone, the Mezzmo Server on the PC is not seen if the PC is sleeping. Is there a way to wake the PC (Mezzmo Server) from the Android App?

Sorry - there is no way to do this in the current version of our Android app (v1.1.7) but we are planning to have recently used servers / devices cached for quicker access, and this will assist in waking up servers/PCs running Mezzmo (Windows) server.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

Thank you for clarifying this. While waiting I've found a workaround - added a Wake On Lan (WOL) application to my phone. I use the WOL tool to wake the PC then use Mezzmo to play my music.

Nice idea. Thanks for sharing your solution for other Mezzmo Android app users.
