Default Mezzmo cannot find any artwork...

I'm going through my collection of videos and updating a few with artwork from the internet. I'm getting an error message no matter what keywords I use (e.g. Batman, IMAX, Red October, etc.).

The error says "Mezzmo cannot find any artwork for this music or video using the information you have provided."

I previously have updated about 100 videos with artwork successfully over the last several months. I've been getting this particular error for the last several days.

I've rebooted and stopped and started Mezzmo. In the "options" page for "Retrieving Album Information" I'm able to click the "Test" button and receive "Successfully connected to the CDDB server...". The CDDB music server is "freedb.freedb.org" and the web address is "/~cddb/cddb.cgi". These are default settings. I'm running Mezzmo version 2.1.11.0.

Any idea why I can't download artwork anymore?

    Thanks,
    John

Video artwork will generally come from Amazon - I wonder if anything is broken there. If you try searching on amazon.com for that exact title, do you get results?

Whelp, I just tried it again and now it seems to work just fine. Maybe something was up with the service, but everything looks to be working. As a little workaround, it isn't hard to just do a google image search for artwork, save the file locally, and have Mezzmo use that file.

    We're all good here.

    Thanks,
    John

We have found an issue, and are looking into it now with a goal to to fix it for the next release.

That's a good tip for a workaround for Mezzmo users in the meantime. Thanks!

Thanks for the update. As of this morning I'm not able to download artwork again and get the same error.

In the mean time I'll just use Google Images to find the video cover art.

    Thanks,
    John

Would you happen to know the trick to get it working or maybe what causes it to stop working? I accidentally deleted all of my artwork the other night (long story) and would like to use the built-in artwork function rather than manually downloading artwork.

    Thanks,
    John

One of the web services Mezzmo uses to retrieve album/DVD artwork has changed, so Mezzmo will not retrieve artwork consistently at the moment.

We are currently preparing a new update that fixes this issue. We expect it to be released next week.

Internet artwork seems to be working lately - maybe I'm just getting lucky. Was this an update done on a Conceiva server or is this a Mezzmo update that still needs to be installed?

    Thanks,
    John

No, we haven't updated the server yet - it'll be done with the next Mezzmo update due out soon. I would say either Amazon relaxed their restrictions a bit (we'll need to check) or you are just the lucky one to get the first few thousand
