Question Sony Bravia Profile Not Seeing Music Library Contents?

Hi, I'm a new user of Mezzmo for Windows and for Android, being a previous user of Plex Media Server.

I have a quick query regarding the playback of music files on my Sony Bravia KDL60W605 television. When I go to the Media Server section on the TV it shows Mezzmo as expected, and shows two libraries - Music and Video. Video displays the playlist contents as expected with all the video thumbnails, all appear to work as expected (apart from an almost imperceptible pause every so many frames on MKV format videos, but that's for a different thread!). My issue is that when selecting the Music playlist, I get the message "no contents to display" and nothing appears on the screen. Selecting Media Type (from All, Video, Music) to Music rather than All makes no difference.

My mobile phone running Mezzmo for Android does see both Music and Video playlists, and can play contents of both without issue.

My TV is hardwired to my router via TP-Link AV200 Homeplugs. The TV is automatically detected as a "Sony KDL W" profile, should this be changed to something else?

Thanks for taking the time to read, any suggestions welcome!

    Hi armchairdriver,

Try the "Sony Bravia KDL (2014 Models)" device profile. Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and edit your device to change the device profile. Let us know how you go.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp

Thanks Paul, I've just tried all the Sony KDL profiles listed but they all say "no contents to display" when browsing for music. It's not a major issue as I tend not to listen to music on the TV often anyway, but I'm just curious as to why it doesn't work.

I also tried moving an MP3 and a WAV file into the folder where I keep videos and seeing if either shows up on the telly - neither does.

As a workaround, I've found that if I go to Mezzmo and use the "Play To..." function and select the TV from the devices list it plays fine on the TV but I had hoped you could browse and select a song from within the TV without having to go to the PC.

What would be the best profile to use with the KDL60W605? Should I leave it as the Sony KDL 2014 models profile or change it back to the auto-detected Sony KDL W ?

When you browse for music files from Mezzmo server, make sure you are in "Music" mode on your TV. If you are in "Videos" mode, then your music (or photos) playlists/folders will show no music (or photos) to play and you will get the "no contents to display" message.

I suggest you stick with the "Sony KDL (2014 models)" device profile. If you find some files that don't play on your TV, then right-click on them in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com & we'll help out.

Thanks Paul, I was still struggling getting it to work, but did a Mezzmo database reset and it's working great now. Thanks for your assistance.
