    Yes, actually thumbnails are the right one. Viewing pictures in TV is very nice, mezzmo is a great software, the best one for pictures.

    For my "special" divx, i can't play it even 10-20 muinutes after start. When i launch the movie i have the icon wait and then the TV displays unknown video codec. It's the same thing with samsung pc share manager. It's not a great problem, if there is no solution, i will reencode this file with SUPER.

    I'll post you soon ffmpeg info.

    I use samsung c profile.

    thanks

    Hi,

    I sent you by mail ffmpeg report about 2 files.
    - The fist one about a avi file that is not playable with mezzmo, the tv says unknown codec.
    - The second one for video from camera (Canon G7). These files are displayed 5-10 seconds before mezzmo send the next one for 5-10 s too and so on.

    is it possible in mezzmo to tell the program that this file (known has been unsuppoted) should be transcoded or is it the files extension who is the ultime criteria ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for the file info - I'll get back to you via e-mail regarding that.

    Mezzmo doesn't look at file extensions to determine whether a file is playable or not - we dig inside the file and get the actual video/audio codecs and match them with what the device supports (or doesn't) to determine whether the file needs transcoding or not.

    Ok, thank's, i'm waiting for the answer.
    With the new ffmpeg there are no more fatal errors when scanning folders for update.

    Another question, is it possible to have all file in normal folder to be streamed and in the same time all files too in transcode folder ?
    With this, if a file is not playable directly, you can go to the transcode folder to display it correctly. Or is it possible to force transcode for file who are normally playable but drive to an error, regardless container, video and audio codec ? In fact in the library can we say this file will be transcoded ?

    Is the getprotocolinfo an interesting information ?
    Do you need other informations such as samsungdesc.xml or RemoteUIServerDescLevel1.xml or PersonalMessageReceiver.xml ?

    Thank's.

    A future version of Mezzmo will show you which files need to be transcoded and you could also force transcoding on files as well - this should be part of the next major update, I believe.

    Yes, GetProtocolInfo is always interesting SamsungDesc.xml can also help - the other two XMLs are not related to the way Mezzmo operates, so probably nothing useful in them.

    Hello,

    You said in your mail about my second file, the one done with canon G7 Camera that “The second file is transcoded and there are several reasons for it to skip.”
    So the problem comes from transcoding and I know that this format is supported by the TV because Samsung PC Share can play this king of files like other software I have tested.

    In the same time I watched samsungLA.prf. I think it’s the profile I use for my Samsung C serie. About the avi container, codec video mjpeg and codec audio pcm_s16le are not listed.
    So I suppose that when codec are not listed files are transcoded ?

    If it’s the case, maybe I could add theses lines in the samsungLA.prf in the container avi section line 140 : (encode =”0” means no encoding for selected codec).

    <video>
    <format id="mjpeg" encode="0">
    </format>
    </video>
    <audio>
    <format id=" pcm_s16le" encode="0">
    </format>
    </audio>

    I guess these lines will match with the movies from my canon camera ?
    Could it be a way to get these files playing well ?

    For the second file (the first one in ffmpeg report) these lines are reported.
    [mp3 @ 0167fac0] Header missing
    [mpeg4 @ 0167f050] Invalid and inefficient vfw-avi packed B frames detected
    Maybe the problem is here and the solution could be to modify these tags ?

    Thank’s.

    PS : I sent you SamsungDesc.xml.

    Hello,

    Yes, you can add those lines and if the file plays natively, please let us know and we'll add this to the official device profile as well.

    Not sure about the second file at the moment, but the "header missing" doesn't sound promising, although it may be a minor thing.
