    Exclamation Mezzmo library wiped out

    Mezzmo just crashed on me.
I restarted it. but now its show no files at all. Now the box on the left shows only:
    Library
    Search results

All my custom playlists etc etc have gone. Given I have just spent the last 3 hours reorganizing my library having moved some of the source folders around this is not good.

    Help !

Further to this, I copied the DB folder, Reset the DB and restored it. No change.
I restored a backup from last year and the usual folders (music, video, pictures reappear). However, I dont really want to have to
I really dont want to be having to re-adding all of my folders to the library and then recreating my playlists because a crash screwed my library over.

If the crash occurred during the 3 hour re-org, I doubt you can recover that work. I'm guessing the best you can do would be to use the most recent Mezzmo.db from any other backup you may have. That should at least get you back to what you had before the re-org.

I'll let this be a reminder to me to make regular backups if I'm going to be spending allot of time moving things around. Though I don't make much use of custom playlists aside from those included in the install. If I move things around it's on disk and Mezzmo just picks up those changes automatically since I browse folders instead of playlists.

Losing the 3hr reorg is bad enough, but it would appear I have in fact lost everything. Only solution has been to attempt to recreate all my smart playlists etc.
If its possible to lose the DB in this way (and to be clear I was simply editing some items in the DB, I wasnt doing anything fancy) then there should be an option to have Mezzmo do an autobackup or something.
Im attempting to rebuild now, but even this is not going well. I have merged my main TV folders into one and trying to rebuild. I renamed some files expecting Mezzmo to detect the changes but it refuses to pickup the name of the series. I gave up trying to convince it, and then tried removing the folder source from the lib hoping re-adding it will resolve the issue. Its now been going around 20 mins REMOVING the folder in question and Im starting to think its crashed (AGAIN).
Much as I like Mezzmo if this persists I think ill be looking for an alternative.

When you restored the DB earlier, did you stop the Mezzmo server first?

I agree, a scheduled backup would be a good idea. I run daily backups with Acronis and presumably (with shadow copy) it's able to backup things in use like the Mezzmo DB. Never actually had to test that though.
