Thread: DSD file passthrue to my Oppo

Default DSD file passthrue to my Oppo

For me it would be a great new feature to have support for DSD files (dsf, dff) in Mezzmo. I don't see a need for transcoding, simply passing them thrue to players that support them. My Oppo BDP-103 supports these high definition files but Mezzmo doesn't. It would be nice to be able to use Mezzmo for all my files and not have to resort to some other means to play these files.

We can add DSD audio support into the Oppo BDP-103 device profile. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll provide an updated device profile.

I sure can, but being a software developer I ask myself if this will be enough to see the dsf and dff files in the media browser? Does the media browser scan all the profiles to decide what and what not to show? Currently dff and dsf files are not listed in the browser when I navigate to my files. Just being curious here...

You are right. I forgot that .dff and .dsf audio file support has been added in for the upcoming Mezzmo v5.0. In the meantime, we do have a patch available for Mezzmo v4.1.3.0 that includes .dff and .dsf audio file support. You can get access to this patch by emailing us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
