    Hi,
Do you intend to add support to HEVC?

Yes, Mezzmo supports HEVC / h.265. Several of the Mezzmo device profiles already have it included for those devices that support playing this video codec.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

One of the challenges with HEVC / h.265 is that it is barely supported in GPU hardware right now and without hardware support it is a tremendous CPU hog on general purpose CPUs. Also, the file size savings is around 40%. It is going to be interesting to see the adoption of this newer standard. At lower bit rats general purpose CPUs may be fine but at higher quality bitrates, hardware GPU or special purpose hardware will be a must.

    Hello,

I relaunch this old topic as one year has passed and now hardwares are available with capacity to read h265. FFMPEG is able to manage it. So I repost ademarfj's question : is there any roadmap to implement h265/hevc support?

    Thank You

    Hi Rirou,

    Mezzmo v5.x supports h.265 / HEVC already .

Many Mezzmo device profiles already have this h.265 / HEVC support included for those devices that support playing this video codec.

If you have a device that supports h.265 / HEVC and want a device profile for it, then let us know and we'll help out.
