Default Mezzmo connected wir LG UB856V Subbtitle Issue

    Hello guys,
I'm using Mezzmo to stream primarily Video Files on my LG UB856 tv. Sound and image Quality are perfect and I'm very happy with them. Nevertheless I have an issue an i'll need some help. It's concerning Cyrillic subtitles. My video files have primarily .SRT subtitle files. The names of the files are the same. I have changed the settings in Mezzmo to Cyrillic encryption. the problem is that i'm still having subtitles streamed not in cyrilic but the are not making any sense. Do I do something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    A. Petrov

    Hi,

It may be that your LG TV cannot display Cyrillic characters when displaying subtitles. This will be a firmware limitation of your TV model. In this case, you can use Mezzmo to burn your subtitles into your videos so that they appear exactly how you want. First step, right-click on a video in Mezzmo with Cyrillic subtitles and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and select the Cyrillic subtitle. Click 'Subtitle Settings' button and make sure you can view the subtitles correctly. Move the slider on this dialog to view subtitle text. Set the font, encoding, colors, etc. as you wish. When you are happy, click OK to save your changes. Next, go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your LG TV device. On the Device Settings dialog, go to the Transcoding tab and turn off external subtitle streaming checkbox and turn off embedded streaming checkbox. Click OK to save your changes. Now try streaming your video. In this case, Mezzmo will transcode the video so it can burn your Cyrillic subtitles into the transcoded video.

Another way would be to use MKV Merge to incorporate the subtitles into the video file & then use Mezzmo just to stream the merged videos. This would work with MKVs & MP4s. This is quite a quick process with no transcoding.

Thank you for the prompt answer. The solution works like charm for me. No problem with any of my Cyrillic subtitles. There is practically no delay by the transcoding. Thumbs up
